Attitude Toward Family Planning Service among Nurses Who Working in General Hospital


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze nurses¢¥ attitude toward family planning service at hospital and the change of attitude in accordance with employment circumstances in hospital, and to seek for the method to promote the family planning service for the 4th term.
In order to obtain information regarding the appropriate answer, questionnaire forms distributed to 180 nurses working in general hospital in Taegu City during the -period from January 15 to February 15, 1976.
The results were obtained as follows:
1. The majority of nurses working at general hospitals have agreed to family planning service which is the national policy regardless of working circumstances of hospital.
The majority has agreed to the family planning service by the hospitals while a few of nurses in C Group have opposed to it.
The majority of nurses `working at general hospitals have not had any experience of Guidance on the family plan at hospitals.
The majority of them have said that they had not had any opportunity to do them. Nurses who have had the voluntary Guidance experience have been a few(34.4%). And the N Group show¡¯s the highest ratio of voluntary Guidance experience.
3. The Ideal number of children to have by nurses in general hospitals shows that daughter: son 1: 1 which shower the highest ratio, and daughter: son 1 : 2, two regardless of son or daughter which have been reflected in order.
The reflection on daughter son 1:1 has been highest for single nurses rather than married ones, while the reflection on daughter: son 1:2 has been predominant for married nurses.
4. The contraceptive method being persuaded to guidance by nurses of general hospitals has been predominant in order as vasectomy, oral pill, tubal legation, etc. ¢¥The contraceptive method has been used mostly with vasectomy at M Group, while rhythm method at C Group.
5. The reflection on the knowledge of family planning has been responded to be sufficient which shows 47.8%, while 31.1% shows insufficient Sufficient response has been highest at C Group, while insufficient at M Group.
6. To do the business of family planning at hospitals, the majority has answered that the in service education is necessary, which has shown the predominant at NI Group.
